What can composite bonding change?
Composite bonding uses a tooth-coloured resin that is carefully applied, shaped and polished directly onto your teeth. It can be used to make relatively small changes that have a surprisingly significant effect on your smile.
Depending on your individual teeth, bonding may help to:
- Repair chipped or worn edges
- Close small gaps between teeth
- Improve uneven tooth shapes
- Make teeth appear more symmetrical
- Improve the appearance of localised discolouration
- Create a more even and balanced smile
Rather than simply making teeth look bigger or whiter, the aim is to carefully alter their shape, proportion, colour and symmetry so that the finished smile looks natural.
Natural-looking smile makeovers with George Angelidakis
Are you unhappy with chipped, uneven, discoloured or slightly gapped teeth? You may not need extensive dental treatment to make a noticeable difference to your smile.
At West Malling Dental, George Angelidakis provides cosmetic dentistry designed to create attractive, natural-looking smile improvements. George has developed a strong reputation for cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry and is a member of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Before and after: what difference can you expect?
The best way to understand cosmetic bonding is to look at the change from before to after.
Before treatment, you may notice a small chip every time you smile, feel self-conscious about a gap between your front teeth or dislike the shape or unevenness of individual teeth.
After treatment, those imperfections can be softened or corrected. A chipped edge can be rebuilt, a small gap can be reduced, and uneven teeth can be reshaped to create a more harmonious smile.
The transformation does not have to look artificial or overly perfect. Carefully planned composite bonding can retain the natural character of your teeth while making the smile appear cleaner, more balanced and more symmetrical.
Every before-and-after result is different because every smile is different. George will assess your teeth, bite, facial proportions and cosmetic goals before recommending what can realistically be achieved.
What happens during composite bonding?
Composite bonding is a minimally invasive treatment. A tooth-coloured composite resin is applied to the tooth and sculpted by the dentist to create the desired shape. It is then hardened using a dental curing light before being carefully finished and polished.
Depending on the number of teeth involved, treatment can often be completed relatively quickly, sometimes in a single appointment.
One of the advantages of composite is that it can often be performed with little or no removal of healthy tooth structure. It is also repairable if the material becomes chipped or worn in the future.
Composite bonding or porcelain veneers?
Composite bonding is often particularly suitable when you want subtle or moderate cosmetic improvements without committing to porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers can be considered when a more comprehensive change to the colour, shape or appearance of several teeth is required. They are individually made and bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth, usually requiring more planning and some tooth preparation.
During your consultation, George can explain which approach is appropriate for your teeth and the result you want to achieve.
Why choose George for your smile makeover?

George has many referrals with patients particularly happy with how beautiful and natural their smile has transformed.
“After seeing George’s work on a close friend of mine, it made me want to improve my smile so I booked a composite bonding consultation where George was very professional and explained the process and what to expect. I decided to proceed with the composite bonding only treatment and a month later, I have just finished my last appointment. I was really impressed with the how well the bonding matched my teeth and the shape looks very natural. I would definitely recommend this dentist to anyone considering composite bonding. The results exceeded my expectations! Thank you George and the team.”
